2018 Hackaday Prize: Build Hope. Design the Future.
    • This is the fifth year for the Hackaday Prize, a contest that challenges our global community to build something that matters.  We're giving away over $200,000 this year, with $50,000 going to the Grand Prize winner! This year, we want you to Build Hope, and we have five challenge rounds that kick off today and end in October. The challenges are:
      • Open Hardware Design Challenge (today (!!) -- April 23) // Design the best plan possible for the boldest idea you can consider. No prototypes are required for this challenge, only pictures, charts, and theory.
      • Robotics Module Challenge (April 23 -- June 4) // Build a module that can be used in robotics projects across the world, and show your module functioning in a robotics application.
      • Power Harvesting Challenge ( June 4 -- July 16) // Build a module that harvests ambient power for various applications and show your module powering a project.
      • Human-Computer Interface Challenge (July 16 -- August 27) // Build an innovative interface for humans to talk to machines or machines to talk to humans.
      • Musical Instrument Challenge (August 27 -- October 8) // Build a module, interface, or full instrument that evolves or goes far beyond modern music instrumentation.
In addition to these challenges, we have $4,000 that we're giving away to fund projects that our community likes the most.  At the end of our first challenge (Open Hardware Design), the most liked projects will be paid out $1 per like (max $200 per project) until our funding pool runs dry.
